About
Hi I’m Brendan Best, I have been building, leading and coaching software development teams for over twenty five years. Experience tells me that high performing teams share an understanding of goals and objectives, expectations from role holders and team mates, and a mutual commitment to shared success. This doesn’t just happen, it’s intentional. Cultivating the practices and supporting them with organizational structures requires care and attention, and to a large extent, experience helps.
Red Plaid Barn is one way I share what I have learned and seen succeed. My purpose is to help teams achieve their goals sustainably, add value continuously and avoid wasteful efforts that don’t contribute to those goals and don’t add value. To do this, I provide suggestions that are tactical, involving tools and techniques applied narrowly to software development. More importantly, I offer comprehensive guidance that centres on the human aspects of accomplishing work sustainably.
